The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) recently awarded a $1.2 million grant to the Regional Transportation District of Denver (RTD). The money is being provided under the Transit Security Grant Program, which is part of DHS’ Infrastructure Protection Program.

RTD will use the grant, along with $2.1 million of its own funds, to install video surveillance equipment at heavily used light-rail stations.
