advertisement
Yesterday, the Federal Transit Administration awarded a $19.6 million grant to Denver’s Regional Transportation District (RTD) for the agency’s 19.1-mile Southeast light-rail line.
Operating along Interstate 25 in downtown Denver, the 13-station line will link with the existing Central and Southwest lines.
Scheduled to open in December 2006, the line is expected to provide service to 38,100 passengers daily.
RTD also will use the federal grant to purchase 34 new light-rail vehicles and construct 12 parking lots.
