The University of Denver/Intermodal Transportation Institute’s (ITI) board recently elected William Shea Jr. as a director. Founder and president of Kelly Transportation, Shea replaces William Stewart, who retired from the board.
Board members include more than 50 transportation industry leaders throughout the United States and abroad. Stewart, who previously served as vice president of procurement and logistics for MeadWestvaco Corp., will retain a lifetime membership as an ITI board emeritus member.
Meanwhile, ITI is recruiting management professionals for its ninth Executive Masters Program class, which will begin in the fall and continue for six consecutive quarters. The program awards a fully accredited Master of Science degree in Intermodal Transportation Management from the University of Denver. More than 135 students from the United States, Mexico, Canada, Europe and Australia previously attended the program. This year, the program’s curriculum includes an additional course on supply-chain management and two legal studies courses were consolidated into one.
“We structured the coursework to be a joint academic-transportation industry venture, aimed at educating the next generation of transportation leaders,” said ITI Founding Chairman Gil Carmichael in a prepared statement.
