advertisement

Amtrak and Northeast Illinois Regional Commuter Railroad Corp. (Metra) recently contracted Digital Concepts to provide an operations management system for Chicago’s Union Station, which handles about 275 Metra and 50 Amtrak trains daily.

Scheduled to be delivered in fall, the system features dispatching and management tools, as well as the company’s DigiNet™ service, which is designed to provide seamless, real-time operation data exchange, and graphical screens for dispatchers and managers. The system includes Open Message Interface transaction sets, which the railroads will use to exchange data with other systems.
