Duos Technologies to implement surveillance system in UP tunnel

advertisement

Union Pacific Railroad recently contracted Duos Technologies Inc. to install a rail tunnel security surveillance and video analytics system.

DUOS will implement a turnkey system based on its PRAESIDIUM™ sensor technology suite, which incorporates video analytics and data from a variety of other types of sensors into a single, multi-source platform, according to the company. The system uses live video streams to detect intruders, and can distinguish between foliage, animals, train movement and people.

If rail tunnel security is breached, the system will trigger audible and visual alarms both locally, and at multiple command and control centers. Live video will simultaneously be broadcast to UP’s remote monitoring control command center and to a regional command center.
