Later this month, ENSCO Inc. plans to open a new rail-car maintenance facility in Biglerville, Pa., and an administrative office building in Gettysburg, Pa.

The maintenance facility will serve ENSCO’s East Coast customers, including Norfolk Southern Railway, CSX Transportation, Amtrak, New Jersey Transit, MTA Long Island Rail Road and the Federal Railroad Administration, according to the track inspection and asset management technology service provider’s latest newsletter. ENSCO’s rail group plans to use the facility to maintain test cars as well as access a nearby 25-mile test track owned by the Gettysburg and Northern Railroad.

“The test track will provide ENSCO with a ‘test-bed’ for its new technology,” said Kevin Kesler, manager of the company’s Applied Technology and Engineering (ATE) Division, in the newsletter.

The office building will house the ATE division’s operations and maintenance group administrative staff.
