On Oct. 17, ESCO Equipment Service Co. co-founder Thomas Gehr died in Michigan City, Ind. He was 86.
After serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II, Gehr joined Pullman Standard, where he became vice president of sales for the company’s track equipment division. Gehr later served Matisa Corp. as VP of U.S. sales before co-founding ESCO in 1961.
He is survived by three sons, four daughters and four grandchildren. The family asks that memorial donations be made to the Share Foundation for the Handicapped, c/o Rev. Dennis Blaney, P.O. Box 400, Rolling Prairie, IN 46371.
