Last year, Eurostar increased its ridership, market share and North American ticket sales.
Sales representative Rail Europe sold 24 percent more tickets in North America for the high-speed train — which connects London with Paris and Brussels — compared with 2003.
Market share for the London-to-Paris service rose from 64.9 percent in 2003 to 68 percent in 2004; the London-to-Brussels portion share increased from 50.5 percent in 2003 to 63.3 percent in 2004.
The railroad also boosted ridership last year. Eurostar carried 7.27 million passengers, a 15 percent increase compared with 2003.
Meanwhile, the company plans to begin testing wireless fidelity services onboard trains and refurbishing passenger-car interiors this year.
