Twenty-four teams recently graduated from the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) National Explosives Detection Canine Team Program, including the program's 400th team.

The canine teams were assigned to the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, Chicago Transit Authority and San Diego Trolley, as well as several airports.

Since 2001, the TSA’s program has grown from 189 teams at 39 airports to 412 teams at more than 75 airports and 11 transit agencies. The training program provides police officers instruction on dog-handling skills and explosives safety.
