Florida East Coast Railway L.L.C. (FECR) recently reached 2,000 straight days of failure-free service for United Parcel Service — a new record among all of the shipper’s transportation providers.

During the period between June 9, 2005, and Nov. 28, 2010, the 351-mile regional handled more than 125,000 intermodal loads for UPS, enabling the company to deliver more than 200 million packages on time, according to FECR.

The railroad’s next goal: reaching the 2,500-day mark for failure-free service.

“We strive to make UPS and all of UPS’ customers satisfied through our efforts in achieving on-time train arrivals, immediate grounding and prompt notification of any delays,” said FECR President and Chief Executive Officer James Hertwig in a prepared statement.
