The Federal Transit Administration recently determined Bay Area Rapid Transit’s (BART) proposed Warm Springs extension meets environmental requirements.
Now, BART can acquire additional right of way for the 5.4-mile line, which will run between the existing Fremont Station south to Fremont’s Warm Springs district. In addition, the project is eligible to receive state-administered federal funds.
Once funding is secured, the project is expected to take five years to complete.
