FTA provides funds for World Trade Center transportation hub
advertisement
The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) recently awarded $699 million in grants to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to continue rebuilding the transit system around the World Trade Center site.
The funds include a $221 million grant to help construct a Port Authority Trans-Hudson (PATH) terminal in the World Trade Center Transportation Hub. FTA recently completed an environmental review for the $2 billion project, which is scheduled to begin construction later this summer.
To be complete in 2009, the hub will link the PATH terminal with the MTA New York City Transit subway and Battery Park City ferry systems.
