On Wednesday, the Winter Haven, Fla., city commission approved CSX Corp.’s plan to build a 318-acre intermodal/automotive facility south of the city and north of Highway 60.
The facility will be part of a future Integrated Logistics Center featuring a rail, truck and warehousing terminal designed to transfer and store containerized goods. The center would be the first of its kind in the southeast, according to the Class I.
CSX subsidiary Evansville Western Railway Inc. purchased the land for the intermodal/automotive facility.
