French railway, Delta to end codesharing agreement

Beginning Dec. 1, French national railway Société Nationale des Chamins de Fer and Delta Air Lines will no longer codeshare on trains running between Paris-Charles de Gaulle International Airport and 12 French destinations.

The move was a "strategic business decision," Delta officials said in a prepared statement. The airline and railway began codesharing in 2001.

Codesharing is a marketing agreement between two carriers that enables one carrier to publish schedules and sell tickets under the code of the other carrier.
