French railway operator Reseau Ferre de France (RFF) recently awarded a contract to Nortel to manage its Global System for Mobile Communication-Railway (GSM-R) network.
In September 2003, RFF contracted Nortel to installed the GSM-R network. Now, Nortel will manage the system and provide network training to French national railway employees.
Nortel also will provide network surveillance, fault and performance management, process development and software management services.
