GE Transportation Systems Global Signaling July 1 announced it recently acquired Railway Technology Inc.'s yard-switching assets. Terms weren't disclosed.

The assets include three Hydra-Switch models, which GETS Global Signaling plans to rename GE Hydra-Switch Model 3000 (solar-powered, automatic switch machine); Model 3000LP (low-profile switch machine); and Model 3000ES (embedded-switch, below-grade switch machine).

"The asset acquisition expands our existing portfolio to include a wireless yard-switch offer, which significantly decreases our customers' cost of doing business while increasing safety in their yards," said GETS Global Signaling General Manager Tom Hammoor in a prepared statement.

GETS Global Signaling already offers CTS-2 Switch Machine, which is designed for mainline applications.
