advertisement
General Motors Corp. recently named Union Pacific Railroad one of eight outstanding worldwide suppliers, citing the railroad's performance in transporting parts and finished vehicles, and cutting transit time in a redesigned western rail network.
The only logistics company to receive the recognition, UP also was credited by GM for helping the automaker through an aggressive new-vehicle launch schedule without any major service disruptions.
UP President and Chief Operating Officer Ike Evans accepted the award Jan. 9 at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
