GM recognizes UP as a supplier of the year

General Motors Corp. recently named Union Pacific Railroad a supplier of the year — the only railroad to attain the honor, according to UP.
The award recognizes a supplier’s contributions to GM’s global product and performance achievements. A team of GM purchasing, engineering, quality, manufacturing and logistics executives determines the winners based on quality, service, technology and price.
“Earning this award from General Motors highlights the commitment we make to providing value, building and maintaining a strong relationship, and delivering quality products and services,” said UP Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Jim Young in a prepared statement.
