On Feb. 13, General Bearing Corp. named Thomas Uhlig executive vice president.

Uhlig will serve as an adjunct to President David Gussack, and oversee U.S. operations' staff, and the company's China-based joint ventures and subsidiaries.

He most recently served as vice president of Timken Super Precision Group. Previously, Uhlig served Timken as director of manufacturing for North and South America, and was president of MPB Corp. when Timken acquired the company in the mid-1990s.

He also has served as president of rail-car builder Johnstown America Corp. and senior vice president of semiconductor supplier Ferrofluidics Corp.

General Bearing manufactures ball bearings; tapered, spherical and cylindrical roller bearings; and bearing components.
