Union Pacific Railroad recently appointed Brian Gorton superintendent of transportation services for the Wichita Service Unit. He succeeds Todd Wimmer, who was promoted to general superintendent of transportation services for the Portland Service Unit.

Most recently director of transportation services in North Little Rock, Ark., Gorton will be responsible for operations in Kansas, Oklahoma, eastern New Mexico and the Texas Panhandle.

He joined UP in 1998 as director-road operations. Gorton previously held various positions in Conrail’s track maintenance and operations departments.
