Grain partnership breaks ground on shuttle-train receiving facility in Texas
advertisement
Grain Suppliers L.L.C. May 7 broke ground for a 110-car shuttle-train receiving facility just outside Friona, Texas, that'll be served by Burlington Northern Santa Fe.
The facility would have a storage capacity of 880,000 bushels — about two shuttle trains' worth of grain — and annually receive 25 million bushels.
Grain Suppliers, a feed grain partnership between Commodity Specialists Co. and CHS Cooperatives' Harvest States division, plans to primarily handle yellow corn at the facility, which also could accommodate other commodities.
The company hired Todd & Sargent to act as design/build contractor for the project, which is scheduled to be complete by year end.
