Harsco Track Technologies obtains first German order

Harsco Track Technologies (HTT) recently received an order for 20 stone-switch and crossing-rail grinders from German track builder Eichholz GmbH — the supplier's first sale in Germany. Terms weren't disclosed.
The deal's financing was arranged through FCM Rail Ltd., which will lease the grinders to Eichholz. HTT plans to deliver the units later this year.
The order helps extend the supplier's presence in Europe, HTT officials said in a prepared statement. The company also markets its equipment, and maintenance and repair services in the United Kingdom and China.
HTT's switch and crossing grinders are designed to re-profile rail surfaces to maintain a proper wheel-to-rail interface and remove surface defects.
