Home Depot recognizes UP as railroad of the year

The Home Depot recently honored Union Pacific Railroad as the 2005 Rail Partner of the Year. The award recognizes UP’s improved long-haul and switching transit times.

“Our operating programs, such as lean management and the Unified Plan, have been paying dividends,” said Randy Evans, UP assistant vice president-industrial products, in a prepared statement.

UP moves lumber products to Home Depot distribution centers in Phoenix; Denver; Fremont, Calif.; Clearfield, Utah; and San Antonio, Houston and Grand Prairie, Texas.
