Two transit agencies recently obtained Transportation Security Administration (TSA) grants to help fund security-related initiatives.
TSA awarded a $1.5 million grant to the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, Texas, to train front-line employees and a $560,000 grant to the Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon to add closed-circuit television systems at five Gresham-area light-rail stations.
The grants were awarded under TSA’s Transit Security Grant Program, which is part of the administration’s Infrastructure Protection Program.
