Houston METRO holds networking forum for small businesses

Yesterday and today, the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, Texas (METRO) is hosting a forum for small Houston-area businesses to network with larger firms. About 250 companies are participating in the two-day forum, which is designed to help businesses identify opportunities to collaborate and bid on $2 billion worth of projects outlined in the METRO Solutions plan.
Approved by area voters in November 2003, the plan includes adding 64 miles of light-rail to METRO’s 7.5-mile starter line and an eight-mile commuter-rail line.
