Houston METRO increases weekend service

Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, Texas (METRO) recently began offering expanded late-night hours to weekend light-rail passengers who patron Houston’s downtown entertainment district.
METRORail will operate until 2:15 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays through the summer. Agency officials then will evaluate the service to determine whether to continue it permanently or offer late hours on other nights.
Previously, Friday and Saturday service ended at 12:47 a.m. and 1:03 a.m., respectively.
