The Metropolitan Transportation Authority of Harris County, Texas (METRO) recently awarded a contract to BIO-key International Inc. to supply 59 Blackberry® handheld devices equipped with PocketCop® software.
The software is designed to provide law enforcement agencies with a fully integrated mobile data system using Nextel’s public wireless infrastructure. METRO police officers will have mobile access to local, state and national criminal justice databases to obtain information on people, vehicles and weapons.
