During its first month of operation, Houston’s METRORail had turnstiles humming. The 7.5-mile light-rail starter line carried 558,257 passengers.
"These figures indicate METRORail has been very well received by our customers," said METRO President & CEO Shirley A. DeLibero. "We are very encouraged that rail will be a key part of our transit system, as expected."
