Houston METRO restructures, cuts jobs

The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, Texas (METRO) recently restructured to reduce operating costs.
METRO eliminated 134 full- and part-time positions, released 84 employees and added 32 new positions.
"To stay financially healthy and build service for customers, we had to examine our business and get better focused on what matters most," said METRO Chief Executive Officer Frank Wilson in a prepared statement.
