The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, Texas (METRO) recently contracted Cisco to provide a wireless mesh network that routes data between various nodes.
METRO will implement Cisco Aironet® 1500 Series mesh access points at 47 locations, including park-and-ride lots, and major light-rail stations and bus stops. At each location, the agency will link the wireless fidelity mesh network to Internet Protocol security cameras, which will scan and report activity in real time.
