Hyundai honors BNSF with annual service award
advertisement
Burlington Northern Santa Fe recently received Hyundai Motor America's Outstanding Service Award for 2002.
Since the Korea-based automaker began exporting vehicles to North America in 1983, BNSF has been Hyundai's exclusive rail carrier.
Hyundai ships automobiles to Portland, Ore., where BNSF loads vehicles on trains for moves to Chicago; Kansas City, Mo.; Irondale, Colo.; Alliance, Texas; and St. Paul, Minn. Automobiles then are offloaded and trucked to Hyundai-affiliated dealers nationwide.
"Hyundai has seen rapid growth in vehicle sales," said Marc Allen, BNSF assistant vice president, automotive, in a prepared statement. "This award reflects the dedication and commitment to service shown by many [employees], from our service design equipment personnel to the local crews who operate the trains."
