IANA introduces equipment reporting, processing system

advertisement

The Intermodal Association of North America (IANA) recently launched the IANA Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) processing system, which is designed to help motor carriers, intermodal equipment providers (IEPs), facility operators and maintenance/repair vendors with regulatory compliance and streamline equipment reporting.

Motor carriers are required to begin DVIR reporting to IEPs June 30. The processing system supports IEPs that have registered with the Global Intermodal Equipment Registry (GIER) and authorized IANA to process equipment condition reports on their behalf, according to the association.

The system enables IANA to receive driver- or motor carrier-supplied equipment information collected via various methods, including the association’s DVIR web portal, electronic data interchange and telephone interactive voice response systems.
