Last week, Pacer International Inc. announced it was named of one of the nation's most admired companies in Fortune magazine's March 7 issue — the second-straight year the third-party logistics and freight transportation provider made the list.

Companies chosen for the list received high evaluation marks in employee talent, innovation, corporate asset use, social responsibility, management quality, financial soundness, long-term investment, and product and service quality.

In January, Pacer also was named to Forbes magazine's 2005 "Platinum 400" list of the nation's best big companies.

"These accolades are particularly heartening since they demonstrate that Pacer has been able to rapidly create a logistics company with a level of operating excellence that is recognized and respected by both competitors and customers," said Pacer Chief Executive Officer Don Orris in a prepared statement.

Pacer provides stacktrain intermodal, trucking, warehousing and distribution, international freight forwarding and supply-chain management services.
