INDOT slates stakeholder meeting to discuss state rail plan

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) will host a virtual meeting May 19 to discuss preliminary findings and recommendations for the state rail plan.

The plan provides guidance on the improvement of freight- and passenger-rail networks in rural and urban areas throughout the state, including intercity and commuter rail.

It documents INDOT’s vision, goals and objectives for the state’s rail system over the next 20 years, and summarizes rail projects that have been identified to help meet that vision. Federal law requires an update of the plan every four years.

The event will mark the third stakeholder meeting INDOT will host as part of its state rail plan outreach and engagement efforts.
