On Nov. 16, Hansen Inc. and A. Stucki Co. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer William Gregg Hansen died of brain cancer at his Sewickley, Pa., home. He was 45.

After earning a mechanical engineering degree from Cornell University in 1983, Hansen joined his father, William Stucki Hansen, at A. Stucki — a fourth-generation, family-owned rail-car component supplier — as a project engineer.

In 1987, William Stucki Hansen helped create Hansen Inc., a holding company comprising A. Stucki and Hankison Corp., a compressed air drying and filtration system supplier. He became chairman and president of Hansen Inc., and William Gregg Hansen was named general manager of A. Stucki and vice president of Hansen Inc.

In 1990, William Gregg Hansen became vice president of A. Stucki; in 1993, he was named president of Hansen Inc., and chairman of A. Stucki and Hankinson (which was renamed Hankinson International). Following his father's death in 1999, William Gregg Hansen became chairman and president of Hansen Inc.

Hansen is survived by his wife, Gretchen, and four daughters.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial gifts be sent to the Wm. Gregg Hansen Memorial Scholarship Fund at Sewickley Academy, 315 Academy Ave., Sewickley, PA 15143.
