Inaugural international transportation management seminar coming to Houston in March

On March 21 and 22, 2005, Informa Maritime & Transport and Containerisation International plan to hold the inaugural International Transportation Management Conference at the George Brown Convention Center in Houston. The companies are organizing the event in association with TranSystems Advisors and ITMA.

The conference will focus on global transportation forecasts, protectionism in an age of globalization, the flow of goods and people, infrastructure project financing, transportation industry consolidation, supply chain security, transportation artery congestion and ocean transportation issues.

Confirmed speakers include Harold Creel, commissioner of the U.S. Federal Maritime Commission; Mike Haverty, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Kansas City Southern; Christopher Koch, president and CEO of the World Shipping Council; Mike Scherm, director of logistics and customer service for BP Solvay; Robert Voltmann, president and CEO of the Transportation Intermediaries Association; John Vickerman, principal of TranSystems Corp.; Edward Emmett, president of TranSystems Advisors; and senior executives from Burlington Northern Santa Fe, Federal Express and the Port of Houston.
