India’s Delhi Metro Rail Corp. recently contracted a joint venture comprising Pacific Consultants International of Japan, Japan Railway Technical Services, Tonichi Engineering of Japan, Rail India Technical and Economic Services of India and Parsons Brinckerhoff to serve as general consultant for the Delhi Airport Rail Link.

Scheduled to open in time for the 2010 Commonwealth Games, the four-station, 11.8-mile line will connect Indira Gandhi International Airport and Delhi’s city center.

The venture firms will provide a range of services, such as overseeing the bidding process, awarding project contracts, reviewing design, and supervising all contractors, design consultants, suppliers and manufacturers.
