advertisement
Polzug Intermodal GmbH recently opened an intermodal terminal in Wroclaw, Poland, the nation's fifth-largest city.
The Polish government's transport arm PKP Cargo, Hamburg-based logistics and terminal operating firm HHLA, and Intermodal DB Logistics of Berlin are equal partners in the facility. Polzug, which moves cargo containers between European North Sea ports and Poland, will serve the terminal.
The four-track facility will offer daily service to and from the ports of Hamburg, Bremerhaven and Rotterdam, and handle containers ranging in length from 20 to 45 feet. The terminal features storage capacity of 2,200 20-foot equivalent units (TEUs), four reachstackers, two cranes and two terminal traction engines.
The facility will serve burgeoning consumer electronics and automotive markets in the region, Polzug said.
