International rail technology consultant Interfleet Technology recently reached a purchase agreement with GB Railways Group plc to acquire RSE Management Ltd. (RSEM).

Established by GB Railways in April 2003, RSEM provides risk, safety, environmental management and security consulting services.

After acquiring GB Railways last year, FirstGroup opted to sell RSEM because it wasn't considered a core business for the United Kingdom-based train operating company, Interfleet officials said in a prepared statement.

RSEM Managing Director Mike North was named director of RSEM and will report to Peter Howarth, director of Interfleet's London office.

"Interfleet's international presence will enable our skills to be offered to a much wider client base throughout the railway world," said North.
