United Transportation Union (UTU)-represented conductors and engineers at the Iowa Northern Railway Co. recently ratified their first agreement covering wages, benefits and working conditions. The workers chose the UTU as their collective bargaining representative in November 2008.

Iowa Northern Railway operates 163 miles of track between Manly and Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and a branch line between Waterloo and Oelwein, Iowa. The short line interchanges with CN, Canadian Pacific, Union Pacific Railroad and the Cedar Rapids and Iowa City Railway Co.
