Italian railway contracts Ansaldo Segnalamento to install safety, traffic control systems

Ansaldo Segnalamento Ferroviario recently obtained two contracts from Italian railway RFI.

Under a $179.3 million contract, Ansaldo will install a safety system designed to control and supervise train operation on lines in Genova, Milano, Verona and Napoli.

Ansaldo also won a $56.7 million contract to implement a traffic control system designed to operate station interlockings and other track along 144 miles of the Palermo Junction, and the Palermo-Messina and Messina-Siracusa lines.
