It's official: Wiley assumes CEO post at Sacramento transit agency

Earlier this week, the Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) board officially appointed Michael Wiley as general manager and chief executive officer. He’s held the position on an interim basis since October 2007, when former chief Beverly Scott left the agency to take the top post at the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority.
A 30-year SacRT veteran, Wiley served as deputy general manager prior to taking the interim CEO post and has held various other executive management positions. He’s played a key role in major agency projects and initiatives, such as introducing light-rail service to the Sacramento region, and expanding rail service to South Sacramento, Rancho Cordorva, Folsom and the Sacramento Valley.
Now, Wiley will oversee final design and construction for the South Line Phase 2 light-rail extension to Cosumnes River College, and the first phase of the Downtown/Natomas/Airport light-rail extension. He’ll also try to reach new labor contracts with SacRT’s unions.
