J.C. Penny Co. Inc. recently named Pacer International the Supply Chain Provider of the Year.
The award recognizes a third-party logistics provider’s performance in six categories: dependability; flexibility; urgency in responding to requests; support capabilities; peak season service; and execution.
Pacer provides the retailer rail, intermodal and trucking transportation, as well as container station, consolidation, warehousing and cross-dock services.
“Pacer supports the entire distribution process for JCPenney’s imported Asian products as they enter the Los Angeles-Long Beach gateway and move into the North America marketplace,” said Jeffrey Brashares, Pacer vice chairman for commercial sales, in a prepared statement.
Pacer International provides third-party logistics, freight transportation, intermodal, cartage, truck brokerage, warehousing and distribution, international freight forwarding and supply-chain management services through subsidiaries Pacer Stacktrain, Pacer Cartage and Pacer Global Logistics.
