Johnstown America delivers aggregate cars to Texas-based TXI

advertisement

Johnstown America Corp. recently delivered an initial production run of its newly designed automatic-discharge aggregate cars to Dallas-based concrete-product and steel-bar supplier TXI Corp., which plans to use the cars in new unit trains to deliver aggregate to three of its Dallas-area plants, according to a prepared statement.

TXI currently is building two unloading facilities to handle the new steel cars, which have riveted sides, 60-degree slope sheets and cold-rolled, high-strength steel center sills.

The nearly 33-foot-long, 11-foot-wide cars also feature Johnstown America's MegaFlo™ discharge system that's designed to provide smoother automatic-door operation and better closed-door sealing.
