On Feb. 19, Kansas City Southern and Martin Resource Management Corp. plan to dedicate Triangle Marine Industrial Park in Beaumont, Texas.
The 408-acre park includes a 23-acre rail yard with more than a mile of track adjacent to KCS' mainline, 1,700 feet of river frontage, a 90-acre turning basin and three 35-foot-deep docks. KCS and Martin Resource Management plan to attract liquid and dry-bulk material shippers to the park.
"With its vast amenities — including rail, truck and water access — the park fits in with our business development strategy to extend our reach beyond physical tracks to serve customers who do not currently have direct rail access to KCS, or prefer to receive shipments in truckload or smaller lot sizes," said KCS Vice President of Sales Robert Cleator in a prepared statement.
Martin Resource Management plans to begin providing transportation and logistics services for molten-sulfur, fuel-oil and sulfuric-acid shippers at an 11-acre facility in the park.
