KCS promotes financial, legal execs

On Jan. 22, Kansas City Southern promoted Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Ronald Russ to executive vice president and chief financial officer.
Russ is responsible for finance, accounting, taxation, financial-risk
management, investor relations, purchasing and inventory control.
Prior to joining KCS in July 2002, Russ served Wisconsin Central Transportation Corp. as executive vice president and chief financial officer.
From 1993 to 1999, he served WC affiliate Tranz Rail Holdings Ltd. as executive manager and chief financial officer. Russ has more than 25 years of railroad industry experience.
KCS also promoted Assistant General Counsel Thomas Healey to associate general counsel.
Prior to joining KCS in May 2002, Healey served as counsel in the Washington, D.C., office of Troutman Sanders L.L.P.
He previously served in a variety of legal positions during a nine-year tenure at Oppenheimer, Wolff & Donnelly and three-year stint at Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway.
