Kansas City Southern Railway Co. (KCSR) recently received a certificate of appreciation from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for providing emergency response training to three TSA inspectors in El Toro, Texas.
The certificate recognized KCSR’s support for the TSA’s San Antonio office by teaching the inspectors railroad emergency response techniques.
Meanwhile, KCSR sister railroad Kansas City Southern de México S.A. de C.V. (KCSM) earned recognition from Latin American chemical and petrochemical shipper Mexichem for providing on-time, quality service. One of KCSM’s 20 largest customers, Mexichem operates 95 plants in 19 countries, including seven in Mexico.
“By the end of 2010, we anticipate that business [with Mexichem] will grow another 18 percent,” said KCSM ejecutivo de ventas Jesus Ruiz in an item posted on the “KCS News” web page.
