In January, Kansas City Southern operated intermodal and haulage traffic on the Meridian Speedway at a run time compliance of 94.4 percent vs. the transportation service plan, setting a record for the Speedway between Meridian, Miss., and Shreveport, La.

“This run time performance is building confidence among our intermodal customers with time-sensitive shipments that we can consistently deliver to their final destination,” said KCS Vice President of Intermodal and Automotive Operations Morris Godwin in an item posted on the “KCS News” web page.

In 2006, KCS and Norfolk Southern Railway created a joint venture to increase capacity and improve service on the 320-mile Meridian Speedway.
