KCS taps Poulsen for top engineering post

Kansas City Southern Sept. 4 named Ronald Poulsen vice president and chief engineer.
He succeeds Jerry Heavin, who in July was promoted to senior vice president operations after Ab Rees resigned to become chairman and chief executive officer of RailWorks Corp.
Poulsen, who most recently served Amtrak as senior director of engineering, has 35 years' experience in engineering, maintenance, construction, and research and development.
His freight-road experience includes stints with Northwestern Pacific Railway and Union Pacific Railroad.
Poulsen also serves as vice president and board member for American
Railway and Maintenance of Way Association.
