advertisement
On Oct. 6, Kansas City Southern plans to begin increasing train speed from 25 mph to 40 mph through a portion of downtown Tallulah, La.
The railroad is installing crossing-signal protection to support faster trains. Earlier this year, KCS increased train speed from 10 mph to 40 mph on another part of the Tallulah line after eliminating a crossing.
The projects are designed to help the Class I improve operational efficiency on the Meridian Speedway line between Meridian, Miss., and Shreveport,
La., according to a prepared statement
